UI/UX Design for Sidekick: A Privacy-First Time-Tracking Desktop App

Client:

Sidekick

Industry:

SaaS

Package:

White-label

Tools:

Figma

Project details:

Sidekick aimed to redefine time-tracking with a privacy-first approach, requiring a secure, self-hosted desktop app and web dashboard. The challenge was to balance a complex feature set—including ClickUp integrations and dual manager-employee workflows—within an intuitive interface that felt lightweight yet powerful.

I designed a clean, functional UI and a cohesive brand identity that communicated both security and efficiency. By creating distinct views for managers and employees, I streamlined the user experience, while features like "Bench Notifications" solved critical communication gaps by alerting managers when team members were out of tasks. The result was a successful beta launch with high user adoption and a handoff of developer-ready Figma files that paved the way for an ongoing, iterative partnership.
